I received my Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from the University of Denver in 2009. I am certified as a Specialist in Problematic Sexual Behaviors by the Society for Advancement of Sexual Health, and am a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider. Through my training and experience working with clients I have become aware that the ways we as a society often respond to people who have suffered traumatic experiences are not always supportive to the recovery process. I strive to offer a supportive and non-judgmental environment to help people talk about their traumatic experiences and all the aspects of their internal and external world that cause them suffering. Since I started my work as a therapist, I have been helping my clients heal from trauma, sexual addiction, and the life impacts of other problematic sexual behaviors and choices they have made that led them to feel shame, anxiety and depression. As an integrative mental health professional, I believe that you cannot neglect the body in the process of healing the mind. I am passionate about helping people find their inner peace through therapy focusing on cognitive interventions, nutritional support and lifestyle changes.

I believe that everyone is capable of growing and changing. We were all designed to live whole, healthy lives, however, life circumstances may have created barriers and challenges for us in achieving that. It is my belief that each person has the capacity to make informed choices and to respond in ways that will better the life of oneself and one’s environment (family, friends, work, community, etc.), if given the tools to do so. I strive to create a safe and accepting, therapeutic environment in which the client feels heard, valued, and understood. My role as a therapist is to facilitate growth, healing, insight, and the exploration of choices, reflective of the client’s responsibility and the wisdom that each individual possess.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest Christian University. Areas of interest and additional coursework includes, Human Growth and Development, Group Dynamics and Processes, and Trauma and Body Work with an emphasis on Trauma Informed Care. I received my master's degree in Applied Psychological Science from Pacific University in August 2021. I completed my internship with Effective Foundations and have become a Certified Sexual Offense Therapist Intern. I am also working towards my Licensed Professional Counselor’s certification. Each person I work with is treated as an individual with a unique past who deserves mental health treatment. Understanding my client's values and beliefs can help create a personalized approach to therapy, creating longer lasting change. I offer my clients understanding and compassion regardless of behaviors or thoughts that may be considered problematic. I believe each person I work with has the capability to achieve their goals and find meaning and purpose in their life. Navigating life may look different for many clients, but I can help those find a new sense of normal.

I received my Master’s degree in Psychology from University of Abertay Dundee in 2013 and have taken additional classes to help obtain licensure in Oregon from George Fox University in 2018. I am also trained in EMDR, which is a modality of treatment most commonly used with people who struggle with symptoms related to post traumatic stress disorder. I like to approach counseling through a holistic lens based on the assumption of the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit. I believe that people sometimes create coping strategies that have been utilized for survival that are now obsolete. Through cognitive behavioral strategies I help you identify those patterns and tweak them in a way to make them more beneficial.
