Robin L. Hawks, MA
Therapist (541) 913-7988
I believe that everyone is capable of growing and changing. We were all designed to live whole, healthy lives, however, life circumstances may have created barriers and challenges for us in achieving that. It is my belief that each person has the capacity to make informed choices and to respond in ways that will better the life of oneself and one’s environment (family, friends, work, community, etc.), if given the tools to do so. I strive to create a safe and accepting, therapeutic environment in which the client feels heard, valued, and understood. My role as a therapist is to facilitate growth, healing, insight, and the exploration of choices, reflective of the client’s responsibility and the wisdom that each individual possess.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest Christian University. Areas of interest and additional coursework includes, Human Growth and Development, Group Dynamics and Processes, and Trauma and Body Work with an emphasis on Trauma Informed Care. I have completed over 200 hours of continuing education in areas that are relevant to my practice and over 125 hours that are specific to treating individuals with sexual behavior issues. I work with individuals dealing with a number of issues including; sexual behavior issues, anxiety, depression, addiction, and personality disorders. I will work with the client to identify and utilize their current strengths. I will also provide information and teach new skills that can be used in their daily lives to address their dynamic life situations and better manage distress and emotional issues.
